Applicable barricades for landings, open cut-outs and trap doors to be fixed before commencing work
Scaffolding should meet the standard specifications of correct size and dimensions. (Wooden Ballis or Bamboo of 3” diameter, to be tied at a height not to exceed 3’)
The number of persons working within a lift shaft at the same time should be kept to a minimum.
The simultaneous employment of different tradesmen working independently of each other should be avoided.
No electrical safeties should be bypassed in normal operation.
All applicable electrical and mechanical safeties should be in place before electrical start up. Only one safety should be bypassed at a time for checking/setting right the lift equipment. All lifts to have car top railing, to be fixed before electrical start up.
All the personnel at work in an installation / maintenance site to be covered under accident r accident relief care group insurance.
The lift should be made inoperative and locked out before any inspection, cleaning, oiling or lubrication of all moving parts.
Ensure correct procedure is followed for taking control of car, car top entry and pit entry.
Cleaning, oiling or lubrication of wire ropes should be always done from Cartop.
The number of persons working on Cartop of a running lift should not exceed two.
A lift should not be returned to normal operation when the work is finished until it has been ascertained that there is no person, tools, accessories etc. in the lift shaft.
Use appropriate PPE at all times.
